This course was developed in partnership with Accessercise, offering a comprehensive learning covering different visual impairments, facility considerations or modifications and preparation of environments, guiding techniques and exercise adaptation.

The flexible online format allows self-paced study. The course emphasises health and safety, effective communication, and ethical training practices. It builds on knowledge from designing exercise programmes for disabled clients, enhancing professional qualifications. Other content covered includes understanding visual impairment, conducting assessments, designing exercise programs ensuring safety, motivating clients, and incorporating assistance dogs, all in just 3 hours of study. 

Course Structure

  • Part 1 – Visual impairment, Challenges of being visually Impaired, Communication and motivation.

  • Part 2 – Practical considerations, health and safety considerations, safeguarding.

  • Part 3 – Screening and assessments, exercise prescription
