    Common food allergens will be looked at, including peanuts, milk, egg, wheat, and seafood. How these allergens cause problems to the individual will be learned, along with the common signs and symptoms. Statistical information will also be given regarding the prevalence of allergies in the UK.

  • Diagnosing and managing food allergies

    In this unit, you will look at testing for allergies and tips on how to manage the conditions that may be present from a food allergy.

  • Understanding food intolerances

    Although they may present the individual with similar symptoms to a food allergy, food intolerances are very different. This unit will look at the differences between an allergy and an intolerance, along with identifying some common food intolerances. Some intolerances will also be investigated that have been seen to be slightly controversial and debated as to whether they are true intolerances for an individual.
