Exercise referral, or GP referral, is a program or process in which healthcare professionals, typically general practitioners (GPs) or other medical practitioners, refer patients to a structured and supervised exercise program with a personal trainer to improve their medical health, mental health and general wellbeing.

Entry requirements and learning format

Entry RequirementsLevel 2 Gym Instructor, L2 Exercise to Music or L3 Pilates qualification. L3 A&P and L3 Nutrition and Weight Management are both units in this qualification so students need to have gained these before they can be certificated. FFT students will have completed these having done a PT or Pilates qualification with us. Entrants must be over the age of 16 for FFT (19 according to VTCT).
Learning FormatBlended learning
Assessment DetailsYou will compile a portfolio over 4 weeks following the workshop, documenting work from a selection of 10 x case studies provided by Future Fit. Portfolios will be digital for assessment. Practical assessments take place in a studio environment. Learners are required to deliver a circuit style class based on the case study.
