Future Fit had the pleasure of returning to Elevate 2025 as the Official Education Partner for the 4th consecutive year, debuting our new Partner Hub by exhibiting alongside our Partner Network.
With over 6000 attendees and 200 exhibitors and speakers in attendance across two days, our team learnt and discussed the goings-on in the sector that we all care so passionately about. They also to got a glimpse into new trends and industry developments that we need all to be mindful of.
Here’s our key takeaways:
- As businesses, you need to know your worth. Almost all gym and fitness operators face rising costs, yet many hesitate to adjust pricing, fearing member loss. But maintaining confidence in your value proposition is essential to protecting your margins and funding service improvements. Instead of increasing prices across the board, review pricing structures and tiered options to give members flexibility while securing sustainable revenue. Communicate changes clearly and early to build trust.
- We need to make the most of the growing opportunity within women’s health. Across the industry, the need to support women’s health and fitness is more prevalent than ever. Be strategic; ensure you have robust training in place to upskill staff, reallocate resource and deliver tailored learning workshops to your teams, so they can support the health and wellbeing of women of all ages.
Future Fit are already working to support this by working with Women In Sport, to encourage participation in their first national coaching survey focused on improving working conditions and experiences of coaches across the UK. Have your say here – Coach Working Conditions Survey.
- Cook up retention recipes for success. A common concern is, “What if we invest in training and staff leave?” But the greater risk is under-investing, and they stay. Retention takes creativity and care. Actions such as regular career progression check-ins, regular training and asking for feedback consistently and implementing it whenever possible, makes all the difference to your teams. Take the opportunity to learn from those who leave, to help you refine your offering and leave the door open for potential returners in the future. Libby Kirkley Bryan said it best in her talk with her closing line “Your power is in your workforce”.
