Experienced fitness industry leader Lewis Thompson appointed managing director of Future Fit for Business

The Future Fit Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Lewis Thompson as managing director of Future Fit for Business.

Having joined the business in 2022 and most recently serving as head of business development for Future Fit for Business, Lewis steps into the role following 20 years of experience across the health, fitness and wellness sector, working with both public and private operators after beginning his career on GLL’s Graduate Trainee Management Scheme.

Since joining Future Fit for Business, Lewis has played a pivotal role in driving the organisation’s growth and strengthening its position as a leading provider of learning and development solutions for the health, fitness and wellbeing sector.

Under his leadership, the business has expanded its team with the introduction of a dedicated client success manager and additional key administrative support, creating a stronger platform for continued growth and enhanced customer experience.

Lewis has also been instrumental in the development and launch of a range of innovative new courses and learning solutions. These include programmes focused on working with children in gym environments and group exercise, developed in collaboration with Craig Jones of High Five; industry-leading GLP-1 focused education developed with Dr Hussain Al-Zubaidi; and leadership and management programmes designed to support the next generation of fitness industry leaders. Looking ahead, Lewis is also proactively increasing our influential network of industry experts, with an exciting expert-led professional forum that will provide further opportunities for industry collaboration, learning and development.

A familiar face at industry events and conferences across the UK, Lewis has built strong relationships with employers, operators and fitness professionals, helping Future Fit for Business remain closely connected to the evolving needs of the sector. His commitment to understanding industry challenges and creating relevant, forward-thinking education solutions has been central to the organisation’s recent success.

As managing director, Lewis will focus on accelerating Future Fit for Business’s growth strategy internationally. He will continue to build strategic partnerships, expand the organisation’s educational offering and ensure Future Fit for Business remains at the forefront of workforce development within the health, fitness and wellbeing sector.

On his appointment, Lewis said: “I am incredibly excited to be appointed managing director of Future Fit for Business.
